Despite decades of intense Zen training, I still find myself wanting to punish Israel, to get revenge, to, at least, move them to the South Pole, and sometimes am so angry it's almost enough to accomplish it singlehandedly. Listening to Norman Finkelstein lecture is a marvel to me, an inspiration, a reminder, and a gift. He is right about this, at least in terms of what has been most commonly held since 1948, and if there can be no international consensus for a return of Palestine with equal Muslim and Jewish citizens, which I feel would do the most to settle not only the geopolitical disputes but the hatreds that have built up, then, yes, right now. Right now. There is no disagreement about the right thing, and it should not be put off another moment.

On the matter of who is the prime mover in Israeli aggression toward its neighbors, I still believe James Petras sees more clearly than Norman Finkelstein, but I can also see how it might be wiser to take Finkelstein's stance if one is in the forefront of activism toward the ends described so beautifully in this lecture.

I mean, making the U.S. government eat, or even admit, any of its perfidies, has thus far been almost entirely futile. If we have to wait for the the politicians to give up those millions in PAC money and legislate against dual citizens in high public office, the extinction of Palestine will definitely come first.
