Third last para makes mention of Gilad Shalit.

Categorically, he was not captured in June 06 as the circumstance of his capture - ridiculously, Israel used the term `kidnap`- does not stand up to scrutiny.

It's claimed that he was taken by tunnel into Gaza several hundred meters from Israel after being bailed up in a armoured vehicle late at night while posted on sentry duty.

Sorry, not possible to build a tunnel of those required dimensions in a territory under constant surveillance as the mountain of dirt and rock to be removed would be too huge not to attract attention from the air.

If the length is 500mtrs then expect 5000tons of rock and soil and sand to have to be removed and dumped somewhere.

Accepting a density of ~3tons per cubic mtr gives that figure.

You will need a lot of truck activity to take away the rocky material and a lot of tunnel supports to be trucked in to prevent cave ins, and all this activity under the noses of the Israelis.

I think it's great that Kerry gets a chance to witness Israel's handywork in the region and meet those who are ultimately responsible for his pay check. I wonder if he got a chance to see the bombed houses, schools, hospitals or UN food stores that were leveled?
