Though where is the CCTV footage of Ian Tomlinson dying..? CCTV is everywhere in the City… Strange that..

But rather like the video footage re the day Jean Charles de Menezes was shot dead that, strange again, wasn’t there.

I took pix myself (unfortunately my digi is slow) but was able to capture the essence of the protests i.e contrary to the lies peddled by the right-wing press it was peaceful, carnival atmosphere and good humoured…and then the riot cops smashed it up. But hey, “British police are the best in the world” (sang Tom Robinson sarcastically in the excellent, ‘Sing if you’re glad to be gay’).

Also one of my pix was passed onto to the IPCC re one violent cop who was assaulting people. I don’t hold much hope that this cop will be held accountable.

The cops are in full spin and when Tomlinson died they came out with the usual lies (remember Hillsborough). So in any event like this I never ever believe the ‘official’ record as it inevitably lies.

No cop has ever been prosecuted for a death in custody (actually couldn’t ‘kettling’ be described as a kind of unlawful custody?) or even a miscarriage of justice (tho’ the two cops who fitted up the Tottenham Three came close to it but their trial was a fecking farce!) or violent brutality.

Where is the accountability or responsibilty? Where does the buck stop? The IPCC is toothless and spineless just whitewash the whole incidents.

The cops don’t learn, won’t learn, they are an arm of the state, agents of the state. Institutionalised racism is still rampant and the various inquiries when they do happen nobody is disciplined or prosecuted.

Therefore justice doesn’t prevail.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes….?!?!?
