Originally airing on Al Jazeera English, “White Power USA” takes you on a disturbing journey through the world of white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups in America’s newly dubbed and hotly contested ‘post-racial’ society.
Award-winning filmmakers Rick Rowley and Jacquie Soohen interview figures like J.T. Ready, a militant white-power advocate who was a former “rising star in the Republican party” and candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives. In the words of Ready:
What I’m fighting for primarily at this point is the survival of the white race…things could erupt. Now within the uh white movement we call it RAHOWA, Racial Holy War, and I do believe in a racial holy war and I believe that we are already fighting that except our side hasn’t even begun to fight, fight back yet. So we’re trying to awaken our people for survival.
Rowley and Soohen’s film runs under 25 minutes. It’s the real and therefore much more frightening version of the story told in Tony Kaye and David McKenna’s stunning 1998 film, ”American History X.”
