why attwood and why on this site? i still recall her vapid comments to orhan pamuk at the pen festival in new york city a few years back. she was admiring him for having survived a brutal islamic empire, as i heard it. i honestly do not understand what makes her worth a mention on this website, in this manner.

    Faiz:

Orhan Pamuk is a distinguished author. He has survived both a false prosecution by the Turkish government and a conspiracy by religious fanatics intended to kill him and a number of other prominent Turks. What is your objection to Margaret Atwood praising his survival? Why should that expression of solidarity with a fellow novelist bar her from this or any other publication?
