I think the moderators of this site need to explain their standards. I posted a comment on February 18, 2012 at 7:30 am that is still 'awaiting moderation', while two comments that are time-stamped more than 19 hours later than mine have been approved already.

What is, perhaps, different about my comment is that it is written explicitly from the perspective of the struggle against U.S. imperialism. Perhaps that makes some people with editorial power here uncomfortable?

[...] “One of the things so painful to remember about the segregated south is that no matter what white people did to them black people were not allowed to fight back, not even with a word or a glance, hence the expression “reckless eye-balling” which led many a black person to be beaten or killed. The idea that the people of Palestine are not even supposed to fight back… To collectively punish them (by bombing and starvation) for electing their own government in a democratic election acknowledged by most observers to have been fair, is sadistic as well as internationally condemned as illegal.”[6] [...]

I see nothing of the sort. He gives his guests more than adequate space to express themselves before interjecting his own questions. The comparison to O'Reilly or anyone in the Western media is a joke, as O'Reilly typically shouts his guests down and those with a genuinely leftist as opposed to liberal slant are rarely if ever given air time. The show is Crosstalk where anyone, including the moderator, is allowed to interject at any time so the few times he actually does this is hardly out of sorts with the stated format.

I've seen RT be very critical of the Russian government before, but of course they are not going to play host to some US-backed color revolutionaries and their bullshit. I don't blame them.

The moderator's questions are relevant and to the point, such as why the West and the protestors are resistant to a negotiated settlement, just as was the case in Libya where Western intervention was every bit the disaster it was predicted to be. The Egyptian guy was full of it when he claimed there was no armed violence by the "protestors," when a large percentage of the dead and wounded include Syrian soldiers and police.

I watched an RT report on countries that sold weapons to Qaddhafi, implicating the UK and others. Nowhere did they mention the fact that Russia sold four times as many weapons to Qaddhafi than any other country.

But they sure do air US journalists that have accurate stories that make the US' leaders look bad that don't get play on US networks, which shows the degree to which the networks here and there are state propaganda. We need networks that analyze facts based on their merits that don't have a factional affiliation.

What a load of rubbish, RT is presenting the perspective of the people who dont have ANY voice in the mainstream organisations such as CNN & BBC. You have simplified the situation to the point of absurdity, CNN & BBC have powerful lobby groups pressuring them on a daily basis to ensure the flow of information is what they would like it to be, I stopped watching their complete fabrications long ago. CNN have been caught out faking stories, video evidence of it, BBC showed the pressure from the govt superseded the publics right to know. The Israeli lobby is all powerful & spans the globe. Get real writer, there is no comparison.

I am of Scot origin, but American born. My mother was a Scot-Canadian, who's mother and father were born in Scotland. I am in reality, a Scot Nobleman by relation, which will not buy me a cup of coffee! My grandmother (directly) on my Grandfathers side, (6 times back) was Lady Betsey Cameron, the pretender to the Thrown of Scotland and leader of the Jacobite Rebellion in the 1700's! She was banished to France for raising arms against the English before the American Revolution. She had 19 grandsons by 19 different French Royality, inorder to raise another army, which gave her the title of "the whore from Scotland!" She did fight and fight and fight! My professional opinion is since Scotland has a very solid 1000 year relationship with England, she should take her time, secure her borders by survey, secure her oil ownershio, and secure her independent economy before she declares her independence. England is in no way going to march troops over the border and start another Northern Ireland. The Scotish people are too well connected and do hold seats in Parliment. I would like to see a free and independent Scotland but I want them to take their time. Scotland has fought over 100 wars with England since the eleventh century. Let her take her time, and secure everything. She should also secure the British Pound as her currency, and of course be a new member of the Commonwealth. She must retain The Queen as her head of State, symbolic as it may be! Scotland is small and should just take her time, because the British People love the Scot, as does the Queen!

I find it disheartening that Scahil omits all mention of zionist influence in regard to the chaos in the Middle East.
Of course the journalists are fearful and self-censoring in view of what happened to the venerated Helen Thomas and this week Judge Napolitano and Pat Buchanon,, but is it not the function of journalists to inform the people with truth?

Is freedom of the press and the Bill of Rights dead and just a memory?
