The following is an old episode of the BBC’s Hardtalk featuring Edward Said.
I see the BBC’s impartialiy was no better then than it is now. Edward Said was superb in putting up with such arrogant and stupid statements from that obnoxious idiot TS and in remaining calm, fluent, clear headed and persuasive in the face of such ludicrous questioning. This must surely go down in history as the most brilliant exposition of the Palestinian cause in the face of completely biased and ignorant questioning. Yesterday’s bete noire ‘Arafat’ has today been reincarnated as ‘Hamas’; the Zionist leaning BBC must always have an Arab villain that it can blame and use as proof that Israel has no partner for peace.
I would have loved to have met him.
